is another big man prospect in the 2024 class who’s come a long way as evidenced by his final landing spot in the rankings. He moves from No. 87 to the 61st spot in the final update after his strong performance in the Cary Academy frontcourt. He’s a 6-foot-10 big man who produced 9.8 PPG, 5.7 RPG, 1.1 APG and 1.0 BPG in his final year of high school basketball with the Chargers as they finished up 15-10 on the year. He ranked sixth in blocks on the year in the NCISAA 4A and eighth in rebounds, according to MaxPreps. He showed he could finish around the rim in a variety of ways with his footwork and strength. He’s continued to improve on his strength/frame in the weight room while maintaining his skill set as a stretch-big on the next level. He’ll be a solid addition for the future at Brown University in the Ivy League where he should become a factor over the next few seasons on the college basketball scene.

DeGraaf showed his continued development around the rim as a patient finisher in the painted area. He had a number of big dunks and big plays in the paint to turn the tide and make his presence felt in the CA frontcourt all game long. He finished with 12 points.

DeGraaf moves into the Top 100 at the 87th spot as he’s shown his development over the past few months. He’s shown he’s ready to be a leader in the painted area with his length and tenacity as a finisher around the rim, rebounder and a shot-blocking presence. He averaged 11.1 PPG, 8.8 RPG, 1.1 BPG and 1.1 SPG as a junior this past season on the high school scene. He’ll be a strong presence in the frontcourt at Cary Academy in the NCISAA alongside 2026

. DI and DII programs in the region would be wise to get eyes on him in 2023-24.

has been mentioned a few times over the past few months on the grassroots scene with Grassroots NC. He’s shown flashes of turning a corner of sorts as he’s taken command of his game in the painted area as a finisher around the rim, rim protector and two-way rebounding threat. He’s learning how to use his size to his advantage to make an impact on the court and as he does, look for his recruitment to grow in the 2024 class. He’s a name for DII and DIII programs to get to know given his size at 6-foot-10.

has quietly grown on the grassroots scene with Grassroots NC emerging as a rebounder and efficient rim-presence during the spring/summer. He’s starting to find his confidence by utilizing his size and length in the painted area on both ends of the floor. He’s due for a breakout senior season after producing 11.1 ppg, 8.8 rpg and 1.1 bpg in 2022-23. Shaw University offered him during the June Live Period. Look for that list to grow during his senior season as more DII coaches get eyes on him.

DeGraaf is a really interesting prospect to watch, and I really liked what he brought to the table as an energetic, high impact big. He’s got a lot of length and size which makes him impactful under the rim on both ends of the floor. His knee injury from last year seems to have cleared up and he’s back to running the floor well. He’s still a dunk everything guy on offense, with some offensive IQ still developing and his post game getting better. He rebounds well, walls up in the paint, and does everything you need him to on defense. He’s definitely not someone who will impact a squad his first day on campus, but with the right coaching and development, he will be a dangerous player with impact potential on offense and defense for a lot of schools.

Degraaf sat out last year with knee issues, but has bounced back in a big way at his new school. He’s averaging a double double with 12 points and 10 rebounds per game, and has the size and physicality for the college game. He’s a late bloomer, but his post touch and interior game continues to improve every day. He does a good job close to the basket as a rebounder and scorer, and it will be fun to watch him continue to develop. The sky is the limit for this kid who is a year behind many of his peers but has the tools to succeed.
