In Colorado, while no 2022 player got an offer, it was great to see the hard work pay off as the players and coaches made those connections. Here is a list of wings that received calls from this class, and I expect the list to grow as well as players pick up offers as the year goes on.
Langston Reynolds Langston Reynolds 6'4" | CG Colorado Prep | 2022 State #172 Nation CO – Denver East
Reynolds is the No.1 player in the class, so it is rather obvious that he would be receiving calls. If he builds off of a solid sophomore season and turns it into a strong junior campaign, this should be a year that offers start coming in. Reynolds is one of the best pure athletes in the class, and he turns it into rim-rattling dunks and finishes with either hand at the rim. Reynolds is a two-way player that is very explosive, and that is what separates him. Multiple schools have their eye on the top guy.
Tayt Chacon Tayt Chacon 6'4" | PF University | 2022 State CO – University
Chacon had a solid sophomore season, where even with all eyes on him was able to lead the team to victory after victory. This multi-sport athlete has a great blend of size and skill and can score in bunches Chacon can take advantage of smaller defenders, but he was also secretly one of the most efficient shooters in the class last season as he hit 52 3-pointers on the season at a 43% clip. Once Chacon keys in on only one sport, I do not doubt that he will be successful at it, and a school will be getting a talented, hard worker. Three schools have contacted him, two in-state and one other in the Big Sky.
Kyle Sandler Kyle Sandler 6'7" | SF Hargrave Military Academy | 2022 State CO – Regis
Sandler is a player that I feel will be in the runnings for a breakout player of the year this upcoming season if he continues to work hard. Last season he showcased that he could mesh and play well in spots but also step up in big games. Sandler’s best game of the season came in an upset win over Denver East when he exploded for 17 points, and I expect that just to be the norm. Sandler is a knockdown shooter and competitor with solid size at 6’5, and he also gets to the rim. Once it all comes together for him – watch out. A couple of in-state schools showed interest as well as a school in the Mountain West Conference. Keep an eye out for him.
Cameron Lowe – Lewis-Palmer
Lowe is a player that did not get as much attention last season that he deserved for the defending champions. Lowe was the second-leading scorer for a young bunch and showed poise as well as upside as a sophomore. Lowe uses his 6’4 frame to get inside and make plays happen. He is a slasher that has a good feel for the game and was able to take on the scoring load at times. Lowe scores double-figures in 12 games as a sophomore and also rebounded well. Lowe is working hard over the summer, and some of that hard work is paying off as he received a text from an in-state coach in the last month.
Jayden Washington – Eaglecrest
Washington was the most surprising player on the list to receive a call/text, but with how he is looking right now and showcased in scrimmages—he is the real deal. At a school like Eaglecrest that had so much talent, it would have been challenging to get him on the court, but with how much he has progressed from even the end of the season the sky is the limit for 6’6 wing that spent time on JV last year and swung for a few games. He showcases a bit of everything. He gets to the rim for dunks. He controls the paint and also knocks down open shots. Washington is poised for a HUGE season and is a player that we are making sure to watch, schools also are interested.
