Quincy Carter Quincy Carter 6'1" | CG Thomas Jefferson | 2022 State CO – Thomas Jefferson
Carter is not a player who got to contribute a ton last season on varsity, but there were glimpses of what could happen if he gets hot in JV. Carter is a guard/wing with good size and will be best suited as a defensive stopper that can also open up the floor a bit. He will have to work on his efficiency, but he is certainly not afraid to let it fly and also is aggressive with the ball in his hands. Carter steps into a situation where the Spartans will be looking for ways to put points on the board but also a 3&D guy that has to slow down the opposing team’s best player. He has that kind of capability and is the No. 51 player in the class. He can either rise or drop depending on how he begins the season, so he needs to be ready.
Terrell Smith Terrell Smith 6'4" | SF Smoky Hill | 2022 State CO – Smoky Hill
Smith is one of the most explosive players in the class and has good size to go along with it. Smith uses his 6’3 frame to blow by defenders and then takes off for dunks as the JV defenders had a difficult time keeping up with him this past season. He also showed that he could penetrate the defense and find the open man as well and rebound aggressively. He can defend multiple positions and is a player that is dangerous in the open court. He will be a player to watch, and although Smoky Hill will have a loaded frontcourt should be able to give good minutes here and there.
Kaden Rullo Kaden Rullo 6'1" | CG Grandview | 2022 State CO – Grandview
Rullo is a defensive player that can get time next season if he shows that he can lock down and stay in front of his man. He is a tenacious defender that makes things difficult for the guard, makes them work extremely hard, and also can space the floor with his shooting as well. His strength and athleticism will earn him time as he proves that he can be a stopper when called upon.
AJ Jackson AJ Jackson 6'1" | CG Douglas County | 2022 State CO – Douglas County
Jackson was a player that got his feet wet on varsity as a sophomore and showcased that he is a wing/forward that works extremely hard and defends and rebounds well. Jackson was very active on the boards when he did get on the game and also provided great energy as soon as he got on the floor. He is a role player, for now, that will emerge and with more confidence and work put in he can become a reliable scorer that will be able to play both inside and out. Jackson put up 6.6 points and 3.7 boards a game while also playing the passing lanes well. Hid defense will keep him on the floor.
Caleb Monson – Vista Ridge
Vista Ridge was a young team that will be a team to watch next season, but it really will be a problem in two years. The reason for that is because they have a solid sophomore bunch that is led by 6’2 wing Caleb Monson. Monson was one of the team’s leading underclassmen last season as he averaged 9.9 points and was also aggressive on the boards as well. Monson grabbed 4.2 boards as well and had the ball in his hands aplenty as he attempted to spur things up. While Monson was not a knockdown shooter, he was not afraid to shoot the ball, which opened up the rest of his game. When his shot fell, however, he was dangerous, and we saw that a few times like when he went 5-5 from beyond the arc and finished with 17 points against Mountain View. Monson will only get more comfortable and put into a situation where he gets to take over more, and this will be a big year for him.
