Recruiting Report: William Becker (2018)
Six-foot-8 Smoky Hill power forward William Becker is a top five talent in the state of Colorado and he has a D2 visit coming up soon.
Becker, the fourth ranked player in the 2018 class of Colorado, played with the Hawks this 17u season and surely feels better about his game.
“I improved a lot offensively over the four months,” Becker told Prep Hoops. “My dribbling and shooting have improved a lot. I’m definitely a lot more confident with my shot now.”
Becker put up 11.6 rebounds, 8.8 points, and 4.6 blocks a game as a junior for Smoky Hill. This winter he wants to be a better shooter.
“I’m really focusing on my confidence in my shot and my dribbling still, but I’ve also been lifting a lot and working on my strength,” Williams said.
The Buffaloes were 16-9 last season but with John Harge, Mue Muwwakkil, and Kyle Cabs being among the many talented seniors expectations are high.
“We’ve got a lot of talent on our team and if we work together we’ll be a tough team to beat. We’re looking for a state title this year. I want to be more aggressive on offense this season and help in taking Smoky to the championship.”
Four schools are showing Becker the most interest and a visit is coming up soon.
“I mostly hear from UCCS, Air Force, Nebraska-Kearney, and Binghamton,” Becker said. “I have a visit with Nebraska Kearney coming up soon.”
Becker has learned how to play by competing with teammates that have come and gone from the Smoky Hill program.
“I’d say that all of my teammates have influenced me in one way or another and they all push me to do my best. My favorite player is Anthony Davis.”
