Recruiting Report: Noah Lewis (2018)
Six-foot-2 shooting guard Noah Lewis of Legend High school ran through his list of visits for the month with Prep Hoops today.
Noah played with Colorado Premier this 17u season but the best parts of his off-season were the camps he attended.
“My top highlights from this summer were probably having good showings at Yale University’s Elite Camp and at the Adidas All Academic Camp a top camp for high academic players across the nation,” Lewis said.
“I’ve improved my game a lot through working my shot consistency and becoming a better all around player, adding different arsenal to my game.”
Lewis has spent his available open hours working out regularly.
“My biggest focus is getting stronger and developing my body for the next level,” Lewis said. “Also, improving my speed and agility and lateral quickness. Additionally I want to become more flexible to improve my athletic ability.
“As far as hoops I’m just focused on helping my team and doing whatever it takes for us to win games this year. And getting ready for what’s to come at the next level.”
Legend was 15-10 a year ago and expectations are for another solid year.
“Our team is a solid group of guys. We’ve got really good guards who all can play. We should be able to be a top five team in the continental league and make a playoff push.
“We’re so close to being really, really tough. We’ve got shooters, slashers, distributors, defenders, and rebounders. We only lost three guys last year so almost everyone is coming back this year so we should be pretty deep.
“My goal is to have fun with my teammates, play hard, try to make a playoff run, and enjoy my last high school season and do everything I can to prepare for what’s to come at the college level.”
Noah is looking at certain type of college program and has set up several trips to find the one that is best for him.
“At this time I’m in contact with Dickinson College, Sarah Lawrence College, Muhlenberg College, Earlham College, Colorado College,” Lewis told Prep Hoops.
“I was in contact with a lot more over summer.
“I have just narrowed down my list as my recruiting process is coming to a close and I am looking to make a decision shortly. I recently just came back from an official visit from Earlham College and I really liked it.
“I will be visiting Dickinson College in Philadelphia on October 11th, then Muhlenberg on October 12th, and Sarah Lawrence to wrap it up on October 13th.”
Who does Noah look up to as a basketball player? The list is long, and strong.
“I would say Devin Booker and Klay Thompson have been guys I watch a lot of and are probably my favorite players right now. I also love Reggie Miller and Ray Allen.
“A trainer I’ve been working with recently is Mike Evans and he used to play overseas I believe. He’s helped me improve a lot as well as Coach Bill Murchie a former college player who coached at our school.
“Derek Griffin is another name who toured the world with USA basketball who had been a mentor for me on and off the court. I looked up to guys like Josh Perkins when I was younger as far as Colorado players having played for the miners when I was little.”
