Recruiting Report: Mozamil Doria (2018)
Six-foot-3 Liberty High guard Mozamil Doria in Colorado Springs is a top 20 player in Colorado coming off a 16 point, six rebound per game season.
Doria, who is in the middle of a football season right now at wide receiver, enjoyed a strong summer of growth as a basketball player.
“I can’t really single out any top highlight from this summer but I feel like I improved as a shooter and gained confidence from that aspect and overall I feel like I matured and it helped me grow as a leader on the court,” Doria.
There will be time between football and basketball season and in that time there are skills that Doria wants to improve.
“I’m hoping to gain some more weight and improve on my ball handling and more consistent jumper,” Mozamil explained.
Liberty has big expectations this winter with so much talent returning.
“We have four key players returning this year and we are very excited for this upcoming season because we truly believe we can grab a league title this year and hopefully make a pretty deep run in this year’s playoffs.”
When the football season allows it Moz has a local school that he plans on visiting for basketball.
“The only school that I’ve had serious contact with was CSU-P and I’m planning on visiting there in the fall,” Doria told Prep Hoops.
As an athletic guard there are professional guards that Doria models his game after.
“I love the way Russell Westbrook plays and I strive to be as intense as him. My favorite player of all time is Kobe and I also really like DeMar DeRozan and Swaggy P.”
Moz told us once that the goals for this winter are big. Championship big and trophy big. Both team and individual wise.
“I’m going to try and win a league title while also winning conference player of the year,” Doria said. “Hopefully lead this team to a deep playoff run and exceed expectations set by everybody.”
