Recruiting Report: John Harge (2018)
Six-foot-7 forward John Harge of Smoky Hill had a strong summer with Billups Elite and he told Prep Hoops about his 17u season, and his senior year today.
“The best part of the 17u season was how well my Billups team preformed,” Harge said stated. “Nobody really expected us to be very good and we ended up being very good. I love those guys and we all became pretty close.
“Also, just playing against the competition you get to play against in the Adidas Gauntlet. It’s really unmatched. That level is crazy and we out played most of those kids so I think that shows how good Colorado basketball is. I feel like I improved my ball handling and my over basketball IQ.”
Harge gave Smoky Hill 7.2 points and 5.1 rebounds a game as a junior and the top ten recruit in Colorado is working on every facet of his game.
“I’m working on my entire game inside and out and just being to do anything my team needs me to do in order to win,” John told Prep Hoops.
Smoky Hill has two of the top ten prospects in the state and four of the top 40. With talent like that goals are high.
“We have gelled together very well since we have been playing together for about three years now. We feel that the only people that can stop Smoky is Smoky and I’m positive we won’t have that problem this year.
“We lost Jahwan and Eugene which were some pretty big pieces but I’m confident we will overcome that and play extremely well.”
Harge listed several programs that he’s heard from.
“I have heard from Boise St, Oregon State, Virginia, Colorado State, Gonzaga, UTEP, Youngstown State, and New Mexico, however my focus is to get better this fall, and work on bringing home a State Championship for Smoky Hill.”
The favorite players of Harge?
“My favorite players are LeBron and Devin Booker at the moment.”
