Recruiting Report: Brendan LaRose (2018)
Six-foot-8 power forward Brendan LaRose of Falcon has a pair of important visit this weekend. Prep Hoops caught up with Brendan this weekend.
“I’m hearing from CCU, Metro State, Concordia Nebraska, Air Force, and Fort Lewis. I have offers from Concordia, Metro, and Fort Lewis. I visited Concordia about a month and a half ago. I’m visiting Metro and Fort Lewis this weekend.”
Several of those programs watched Brendan play with the Colorado Hawks throughout the 17u season.
“My top highlights were probably playing against top 10 talent all summer and winning,” LaRose said. “My best game this summer was against Team Arsenal when I had 14, 8, and 3. I definitely improved my rebounding and shot blocking this summer too.”
LaRose averaged over nine rebounds, eight points, and three blocks a game as a junior. He wants to become more versatile as a senior.
“I’m working on defending on the perimeter and handling the ball in transition,” Brendan said.
Falcon went 12-13 last season but they return everything so championship goals are the focus.
“We should be able to win league,” Brendan stated. “Almost our entire team is coming back, so we all play well together. I’m hoping for a good playoff run this year.
“I want to make all league, lead the state in rebounds and blocks, and win a state championship.”
Who is Brendan’s biggest basketball influence? A local player who made his money by being a hard worker.
“My biggest influence is Kenneth Faried, but I’ve tried to model my game after Cody Zeller,” LaRose said. “My favorite players are Kenneth Faried, LeBron, and Klay Thompson.”
