Recruiting Report: Bodie Hume (2018)
Sterling senior Bodie Hume is a three sport athlete at Sterling High who stands 6-foot-6. Bodie averaged sixteen points and six boards a game for a 22-5 championship team.
Hume played with the Colorado Hawks this spring/summer and loved playing every night with his teammates.
“I’d have to say the top highlights of my 17u AAU season was being able to play at a high level with some incredible competition,” Hume said. “I also couldn’t have asked for a better group of guys and coaches to play with!”
Hume is a three sport talent so he’s in the middle of a football season but he still has time to get into the gym.
“Well at the moment we are in the middle of the football season so I just continue to improve my jumper and finishing at the rim in traffic whether it’s dunking or crafty finishes,” Bodie said.
Sterling is working to repeat this year with Bodie leading the way.
“We just won a state championship and whenever someone does that they want to repeat. I think we have a very good chance of winning again. We lost three important seniors that were amazing teammates.
“But we have four returning starters so we are looking good! And I’m really excited for this winter. We have a great group of kids and an even better coach.”
Bodie Hume is a Northern Colorado commit and he has certain people that have helped him build his game.
“I don’t necessarily base my game off of anyone professional,” Bodie said. “I love learning from anyone who knows the game well! I really like playing with all the teammates I’ve had, but obviously my favorite hooper has to be Michael Jordan.
“I also love playing with my coach Mike Holloway because he somehow never loses at pig! As well as my uncle Cory Fehringer because he is always so tough to play against.”
