Prospect Spotlight: Jaedon Bowles (2019)
One of the smoothest players at the Prep Hoops Spring Kick Off last weekend was 6-5 2019 guard Jaedon Bowles.
Playing for the SevenTwentyKingz, a new club outfit made up primarily of Manual High School players, Bowles put his diverse skill-set on display from the very start of the tournament, a bag of tools that makes him one of the top three players in Colorado’s 2019 class.
While leading the Kingz to the quarterfinals of the 16U Platinum Championship Bracket, and putting a scare into Billups Elite in that round, Bowles consistently knocked down outside shots, penetrated to create plays for himself and others and got after it on the defensive end, where he guarded multiple positions.
Bowles was simply one of the top standouts at the tournament all weekend long. He’s long and athletic, and his strong shooting ability makes his athleticism and quick first step all the more dangerous.
“I think I’m underrated in the state right now,” Bowles said. “I’m just trying to prove to everybody that I’m as good as I should be. I think my jump shot is a strength, and I think I can get to the basket when I want.”
Bowles, who was named second-team all-16U tournament, averaged 23.5 points and 7.8 rebounds per game as a sophomore last season at 3A Manual.
Bowles said that he has received Division I interest thus far from Nebraska and the University of San Diego.
Bowles will be playing mostly locally this spring, but he’s a player with keeping a close eye on. His ceiling his high, and there’s no denying the natural talent.
