Prep Hoops Spring Kick-Off Top Defenders (16U)
Jevaughn Williams 5’11 (2019) (Sand Creek, The Force Basketball) is a super athletic strong guard who does a little bit of everything. I liked how he dives for loose balls and does all the dirty work. Williams is also a lock down defender on the ball. He spent most of his time hounding the opposing point guard.
Dalen Ridgnal 6’4 (KC Spurs) Ridgnal is an elite defender who can guard every position on the court. To add to his defense he was able to get to basket and finish over the opposing teams post players throughout the tournament. I thought he was the best 16U players I saw at the tournament.
Stephen Hayes 6’1 (Overland, Colorado Hawks) doesn’t to much on the offensive end for the Hawks but he is a lock down defender. Hayes is very physical and takes pride it locking down whichever guard he is defending. Once he develops more of an offensive game he will be a really good player that will succeed at the next level.
Steven Croell 6’4 (Broomfield, Colorado Titans) is a physical player that can guard most opposing guards and wings. I liked how he took it upon himself to defend the other teams best guard. Croell is a next-level player but he is will be a really good varsity basketball player.
