Prep Hoops Colorado 4A Team Rankings: Week 2
Here’s where we have slated things in 4A after a big opening week:
1. Valor Christian (0-0, Last week: 1)
The Eagles, whose football team won a state title Saturday, will finally get on the basketball court Wednesday when they take on Doherty in the Chaparral/ThunderRidge Tipoff.
2. Pueblo West (2-0, LW: 2)
Freshman Taylor Harris scored 10 points for West in its season-opening win over Harrison.
3. Sand Creek (2-0, LW: 3)
The Scorpions scored 99 points in each of their first two wins over Thornton and Pueblo Centennial.
4. Holy Family (2-1, LW: 6)
The Tigers rebounded from a narrow loss to Lewis Palmer in their second game to notch an impressive win over Golden.
5. Golden (2-1, LW: 4)
The Demons scored victories over Lewis-Palmer and Mead before falling to Holy Family on Saturday.
6. Sierra (1-0, LW: 5)
CJ Jennings, the 6-2 senior standout, scored 29 points in the Stallions’ season-opening win over Falcon.
7. Vista Peak (3-0, LW: 7)
Victories over Greeley Central, Cheyenne Mountain and Fort Morgan all came by double digits.
8. Lewis Palmer (3-1, LW: unranked)
Three victories in four days, with the only loss by one to Golden, was an impressive start for the Rangers.
9. Mead (2-1, LW: 8)
The Mavericks lost to Golden, but they also cruised to wins over Pueblo South and Pueblo Central.
10. Longmont (0-0, LW: 10)
The Trojans get things started with a home game against Discovery Canyon on Tuesday night.
