Prep Hoops Colorado 3A Team Rankings: Week 3
There is some shake-up in this week’s installment of the 3A team rankings.
Check it out:
1. Colorado Springs Christian (3-0; Last week: 1)
The Lions kept rolling with a big win over Pueblo Centennial, a team that later knocked off highly ranked 4A squad Sand Creek. CSC has games this week against Canon City and The Vanguard School before breaking for the holidays.
2. Resurrection Christian (5-0; LW: 3)
The Cougars have destroyed everyone in their path so far. They’ll get their first real tests this week with top-10 matchups against Lutheran and Faith Christian.
3. Manitou Springs (5-0; LW: 6)
The Mustangs stayed perfect with convincing wins over St. Mary’s and The Classical Academy. Senior Lucas Rodholm is averaging almost 17 points per game.
4. Alamosa (5-1: LW: 8)
The Maroons went a perfect 3-0 last week while winning the Demon Invitational in Glenwood Springs.
5. Manual (2-2; LW: 2)
A busy first week of competition against bigger schools included wins over Mitchell and Ponderosa and losses to Far Northeast and Vista PEAK.
6. Colorado Academy (4-1; LW: 7)
Few players have been hotter to start this season than sophomore guard Hunter Shkapich, who is averaging 21.3 points in his first five games.
7. Faith Christian (3-1; LW: 5)
The only loss in four games last week for the Eagles came against top-10 program Alamosa.
8: DSST Stapleton (3-2: LW:10)
A 21-point win for the Knights over previously No. 4 Lutheran was the win of the week in 3A.
9. Sterling (5-1; LW: 9)
The Tigers went 3-0 last week behind Bodie Hume, a 6-5 junior who is averaging 14.8 points per game this season.
10. Frontier Academy (5-0)
The Wolverines will get a test on Friday when they face Faith Christian.
