Sekue was the other steady force for West, turning in a strong 17 point performance. Playing with his usual twitchiness and quick burst, he attacked the paint and finished inside at will. He battled hard on the glass, coming up with big rebounds in traffic and never shied away from contact. Every time West needed a spark, Sekue answered, doing everything he could to keep his team within reach

Sekue closed February on a tear, averaging a double double over the final four games to help Denver West cap a perfect 20-0 regular season. His athleticism and intensity jump off the page the moment he steps on the floor. He’s constantly attacking, playing above the rim and looking to finish with authority. He’s more than just highlights as his mid range game keeps defenders honest, and his defensive instincts create steals, blocks and momentum changing plays. When he’s locked in with that energy, he sets the tone and can completely control the pace and physicality of any tournament game

Yasin is one of the better two-way options in the entire state, and this summer seemed to be one of offensive growth for him, and we liked what we saw. He’s now facing up and attacking with the ball, consistently knocking down shots and commanding doubles, and that is only an add-on with the type of player he already is. The balanced attack has had him be a standout in multiple tournaments and showcases that we saw from him this summer. Each time out he has looked like the guy for his team. He steps into a new situation that fits his style, will allow him to be a bit more free with the ball, and showcase his versatility. He’s a player that continues to progress, and he makes a jump in the rankings after a solid season and summer.

Sekue is one of, if not the class’s most versatile off-ball guard. Sekue made an impact early as a sophomore spark for a top-tier Rangeview program and will look to build on that in Year 3. He excels in transition, finishes through contact, and embraces defensive matchups with physicality and footwork. He’s developing a more consistent perimeter shot and showed well at Section 7. Entering Year 3, he projects as a core contributor and two-way producer on one of the state’s most competitive teams. He’s a player whose athleticism jumps off the page, and we are thrilled to see how he plays this upcoming weekend.
