Dumbuya is a player who we got to see a few times this summer, and the thing that cannot be taken away by him is his ability to compete on the boards. Kareem is a big man who plays above his size, grabs boards in bunches, and goes right back up with the basket. He keeps the ball high, has great footwork, and a soft touch around the rim. He’s a physical big man that can move defenders down low, has a back-to-the-basket game and also sets screens and roll. Defensively, he guards straight up, puts his hands up to deflect or alter shots, and competes on that end of the floor. With how many guards that West has, it will be great to see how he offers an inside-out attack but based on what we seen from him this Summer/Fall, he’s a player that can help them out and that is why we made a push. Good work, Kareem. Now it’s time to show it on strictly varsity reps. 

Dumbuya stood out with his impressive size, frame and natural presence on the floor. He worked effectively close to the rim, using his strong hands to secure rebounds, control possessions and finish plays inside. His ability to carve out space and stay active around the basket made him a constant factor in the paint. Defensively he applied steady pressure, using his length and strength to challenge shots and disrupt opponents looking to attack inside. His physical tools allow him to alter plays and make opponents think twice before driving at him. With his combination of size, hands and defensive impact, Dumbuya showed he can be both an inside anchor and a reliable contributor offensively around the rim

Kareem Dumbuya brings power and acceleration to his play style on both ends of the floor. A confident forward, Dumbuya isn’t afraid to absorb contact and get to the rim at will. What differentiates Dumbuya from other players at his position is his court awareness and ability to swing around the basketball efficiently.

Kareem Dumbuya is an excellent forward who found himself tallying up rebounds on both ends of the hardwood. Dumbuya slithers through defenders, getting to the rim at will. With impressive court vision, Dumbuya is a precision passer who always looks to involve his teammates in the action.
