Doyle cracks the top 10 on the heels of a tremendous Senior season. Lex Cath fell short by a hair in the 11th region title game but Tyler did all he could. He’ll be an impact player at Bellarmine soon.

Lexington Catholic had a comfortable lead in the third and it was built off the back of Doyle. The Bellarmine commit is tough to stop when he’s attacking downhill and has the strength to finish through contact. With elite touch at the rim, Doyle knocked down some tough layups and floaters at the basket. A better athlete than you think, Doyle’s first step allows him to get past the primary defender and attack the rim. Playing with an elite feel, Doyle sets his teammates up in positions to score and is the engine of the Lexington Catholic offense. It would be exciting to see a rematch of this game in the state playoffs.

Doyle was the best player on the floor vs Taylor County as he controlled the game from the tip. He got to the paint at will and did a good job finishing thru contact. Has a unique combination of size and quickness that makes him effective when he gets to the paint. He never seemed to get sped up and knocked down a few 3’s to cap off a solid night. Throughout the game he did a good job getting other players involved. Big time player that will have a huge senior year and could lead Lexington Catholic back to Rupp.

Tyler made an early commitment to Bellarmine and sat out 17u AAU and got in the weight room and you can tell. Doyle has bulked up and even gotten more athletic as he’s dunking easier and elevating better on his jumper. Scotty Davenport loves to redshirt guards but Doyle will make a push to get on the court next season.

From a potential Division I prospect to a Division I commit, Doyle showed why he’s a class above the competition on Thursday evening. Lexington Catholic gave Paul Lawrence Dunbar fits defensively with their 2-2-1 full court press and turned over the Bulldogs consistently. Doyle used his size to score with his back to the basket and got some easy layups in transition off steals. A little bit of a funky release on his jumper but Doyle was on target when left alone from long distance even out to 25+ feet. His poise and feel for the game helps make his entire team click and Lexington Catholic is rolling right now.

Tyler climbs from 25th to 15th in this update and that feels about right for the potential 11th region player of the year. Doyle is a tough combo guard who leads a veteran Catholic squad. A true three level scorer, Doyle has signed to play his college ball at Bellarmine.

Doyle is the best player on a Senior laden Catholic team and had a monster game on Saturday as the Knights demolished Butler to take the first game of the day. Tyler had 20 points on 8-15 shooting. He started the day with a steal and a dunk and never slowed down from there. The Bellarmine commit looks like he’s going to be a problem for the 11th region this season.

Doyle committed to Bellarmine early and sat out AAU all spring and summer so he’s been in the gym working on his game. I’m interested to see how he looks as Senior and he’ll be relied upon to be one of the main cogs for a rebuilding Lexington Catholic team.

Doyle is a big point guard who committed early to Bellarmine and shut it down for AAU season so we haven’t seen much of him in the last 5 months. Tyler is a capable driver and an above average defender that is switchable and can guard several spots on the floor.
