It’s been a good class for a long time and a ton of these players will be making an impact in college over the course of their careers. Let’s take a look at the top combo guards in this latest rankings update. This does not include any players who were in the top 10 in the class.
Green is currently the second leading scorer in the state and is top 50 in the state in three point shooting. Signed to Holy Cross, Max has made big strides in his game over the years and will be even better when he gets to a college weight room and adds more bulk to his frame.
Tyler made an early commitment to Bellarmine and sat out 17u AAU and got in the weight room and you can tell. Doyle has bulked up and even gotten more athletic as he’s dunking easier and elevating better on his jumper. Scotty Davenport loves to redshirt guards but Doyle will make a push to get on the court next season.
Smith is one of the top available Senior guards in my opinion and already has multiple scholarship offers at the NAIA, D2 and Juco level. Taveon is at his best when he’s got his head down and driving into the paint. He excels at getting paint touches and is smart with distributing the ball when he can’t score at the rim.
Another early commitment, McClendon is headed to Cumberlands and coach Daniel got a steal, in my opinion. Kyler is an active player on both ends of the floor and can be disruptive on defense. Offensively, McClendon is more of a slasher than a shooter but is capable of keeping defenses honest at all times.
One of the biggest risers in the class over the last year or so, Whitaker is a good sized guard who can score the ball from about any spot on the floor. A sniper with good range, Indred is a 44% shooter from three and does a good job of attacking the paint and getting to the free throw line as well.
