Wright has been absolutely killing it so far and doing a little bit of everything for his squad. With his length and size, teams are really struggling to figure out how to slow him down. He attacks the rim with confidence, finishes strong through contact, and has an aggressive edge making him tough to deal with. On the glass, he’s been super active, crashing the boards hard and giving his team a ton of second-chance opportunities. While on defense, he’s just as tough and most teams don’t even want to challenge him inside. If they do, it usually ends in a block or a tipped shot. He’s controlling the paint and making his presence felt on both ends. Just a total game changer every time he’s on the floor

Wright is a freak athlete who can throw it down with the best of them. Standing at 6’9”, it’s tough for many defenders to match up with him. What really makes him exciting to watch is how effective he is setting high screens for his guard and rolling to the basket for lobs and easy scores. He spaces the floor well and isn’t just a dunker – he can hit the jumper and even knock down the occasional three. On defense, his length is the major asset as he alters shots and forces turnovers. Wright is tough to back down in the paint and attacks the boards on both ends. If he continues to develop his range, Wright’s game is going to reach a whole new level next season

Adept as a rim roller around Ralston Valley’s group of dynamic perimeter playmakers, his ability to finish above contests make him a dependable finisher down low. His attention to detail on the defensive end paired with the 6’9 frame have allowed him ample opportunities to alter shots down low.

Wright will be a crucial rim protector for Ralston Valley at 6’8+, bringing the length necessary to alter and discourage numerous shot attempts. An effective screen setter for this team’s myriad of perimeter playmakers, he found success under that context. Most active rolling towards the basket for layups, he will be a dependable play finisher to pivot off of the ample floor spacing on this roster. On a few occasions, Wright spaced the floor off the pop, capable when given space.

Folk continues to bring the high motor on the glass, alongside the lanky frame at roughly 6’8. Effective protecting the rim from weak side rotations, the forward maintains active hands while contesting shots at the rim. Although typically a rim rolling option for his scoring opportunities, Folk has made strides rounding out his offensive game. Capable knocking down spot-up threes, he hit a few corner and wing threes in his pair of outings on Tuesday.

Wright has shown value on the interior, effective swatting shot attempts at the rim and staying active on the glass. The forward possesses notable upside as a defensive asset, adding much needed size in the frontcourt with Ralston Valley. His value rolling to the rim and drawing gravity away from shotmakers has a positive impact on the halfcourt flow. His role as a passing hub will be one area worth watching, given how well Ralston Valley moves off-ball.

showcased a very impressive low post presence. Wright shut the lane down making opponents regret driving inside. Wright’s standing reach and defensive instincts made every shot and pass in the paint a challenging task. 6-foot-7, great hands and uses them effectively in transition as he sprints the middle of the floor with his hand ready to catch and finish at the rim. Outstanding rebounding prowess, Wright consistently competed for rebounds and didn’t allow himself to be outworked on the boards. Samson proved to be a high-level prospect with immense potential and upside due to his impeccable combination of length and mobility.

The freshman center already stands at 6-foot-7 and was a difference maker in the win over Central Florida Heat. He was incredibly hard to match up with and dominated the painted area when he was on the floor. He grabbed some impressive contested rebounds, eliminating second chance opportunities for opponents. In the first half, he got up for a transition two-handed dunk, showcasing flashes of what he can potentially do above the rim. I also saw him convert on a tough make with his back to the basket in the post. Despite his tall height at such a young age, he moves pretty well and he ran in transition to put himself in position for a pass from a teammate which led to an and-one layup. The Ralston Valley 9th grader has a lot of potential.
