-Pate is an intriguing prospect to track in 2029 as one of the better players on a good Largo JV team this past season. Standing at 6’5- Pate is an explosive leaper, runs the floor extremely hard, and cleans up most of his misses around the rim. I think there’s a pathway to him being successful as either a 3 or 4 depending on his developmental trajectory, but regardless he should be a physical and versatile defender. If he can improve the ballhandling to keep past with his explosive long strides as well as the touch around the rim, I think there’s a roadmap to consistent playing time at the varsity level for the Lions.
