WHY?
He proved to be a huge 3-point shooting threat. Johnson is instant offense when he steps on the floor. Quincy has the ability to rattle off 5 or 6 made three-pointers in a single game. He is a game-changer with his outside shooting/.

Now at Osseo, Quincy broke out during his junior season. The 6’3 guard was aggressive all weekend long attacking the basket for Team FSA, and was a consistent scoring presence for them. He has a strong frame on the wing, and when attacking is able to get defenders on his hip and just pin them there as he glides to the rim. Plays with poise and patience, doing a nice job of recognizing his defender’s positioning and taking the space that’s available. Showcased a smooth mid-range jumper when driving lanes weren’t available.

Quincy was one of the top bucket getters from the event, showing a combination of size, strength, and change of speed on the ball to get to his spots. Did a nice job of using his body to shield off defenders as he attacked the basket, but was also so smooth getting to his spots and pulling up for mid-range jumpers. May not have had the varsity experience of some of the other players at the event, but is no stranger to competition from practicing day after day on a loaded Hopkins team. Was one of the top performers during the 1v1 portion of the event and carried that over to the full court games.

Johnson is a gifted scorer who uses great footwork and timing to score in the paint. He has good mobility and solid ball-handling capabilities which allows him to get by defenders as he constantly attacks with great aggression. I like the way Johnson uses his frame to help him on either end of the court.

play in, Quincy was on the opposite team producing at a high level for Hopkins. His chance of speed on the ball was very advanced, as he would lull defenders to sleep before blowing right by them to get two feet in the paint. In a close game, Quincy made play after play to push his team ahead as he was constantly forcing a second defender to step up on him, and he showed the vision to quickly dump it off to an open teammate at the rim. His coach trusted him to make plays down the stretch, and he did just that. Will be a part of a really promising group of young guards coming up at Hopkins
