Mikey Johnson Mikey Johnson 6'3" | SF Huntington | 2024 State WV has climbed the ranks to our tenth spot and rightfully so.  The 6’3″ wing has had a more than outstanding senior season while leading his team through one of WV’s toughest schedules.  Johnson is a compelling combination of speed, strength and athleticism.  Johnson is a fierce competitor on both ends of the floor and has put up consistent and solid numbers including 18ppg, 8 rebounds per and 4.5 assists.  Its easy to see why he’s gained recruiting interest as of late and will certainly find himself on a roster next fall.

Mikey Johnson Mikey Johnson 6'3" | SF Huntington | 2024 State WV lit it up in Parkersburg putting up 24 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists vs a tough PHS team.  Johnson leads a talented Highlander squad but is undoubtedly the leader.  Great size, speed and athletic ability Johnson is on track to start receiving some offers after the first of the year.

Huntington (WV) came out with a ton of energy and the play of Johnson got them going. On the first play of the game Johnson finished an alley-oop layup and then had a tough drive with his left hand. Playing with a ton of aggressiveness from the wing, when Johnson caught the ball he was looking to get downhill and attack. With his strength and athleticism, he gave Olentangy Liberty some problems in the paint. Combine these skills with a couple spot-up 3-pointers and Johnson looks like a potential scholarship basketball prospect.

Outstanding athlete that put together a few highlight plays throughout the tournament. Whether he was throwing down a dunk, or blocking a shot above the rim, he knows how to use his athleticism to make a high impact.

Johnson is a matchup nightmare that can do a little bit of everything while on the court. Johnson was productive on the court and was able to amass a staggering 15 double doubles in only 24 games played. He averaged 17.3 points per game, 10.3 rebounds per game, 2.0 assists per game, 1.7 steals per game and 0.8 blocks per game. Johnson plays with a relentless style on the court. His style of play to go along with his athleticism will make him a candidate to have a double double every game in 2024 for Huntington High School.

The 6’3″ small forward is a matchup nightmare for opposing coaches. Not only can he score the ball, but his rebounding is just as impressive. In 24 games, Johnson averaged 10.3 rebounds per game. He snared 168 defensive rebounds and 79 offensive rebounds. At only 6’3″, this shows his tenacity to go get the ball. In 2024, Johnson will look to expand his game and improve his numbers for Huntington High.

He averaged 17.3 points per game, 2.0 assists per game, 10.3 rebounds per game, 1.4 steals per game and 0.6 blocks per game. He fills the stat sheet night in and night out. Johnson is relentless on the court. He constantly attacks the rim and finishes well above the rim to flush home numerous dunks per game. He sets up his teammates on a consistent basis and takes what the defense gives him. While he is well known for his offense, he is also active on defense. He has quick hands and feet that allow him to get in the passing lanes or cause deflections leading to turnovers on the court. Johnson is a matchup nightmare and will be a player to watch for Huntington High School in 2024.
