One of the most impressive individual performances of the weekend came from this Upstate Point Guard. Max had a 27-point game, not only playing up with Hoopzters 17U, but playing against a full team of 2026s, Carolina Misfitz. You wouldn’t be able to tell Hayden’s age by watching him work this game, because he is a poised offensive player who gets to his spots at ease, hits tough shots over good defense, and is a weapon on designed actions. Keep an eye on this rising freshman to be one of the best guards in the state over the next four years.

, who put up 5 assists in Friday’s game. Hayden is the 8th Grade starting Point Guard for Southside Christian, who is already well-experienced against older and high-level competition. Max has a really good feel for finding his teammates and putting them in good spots, and his only turnovers were when he was too unselfish and tried to force passes. As he gets older and more comfortable as a scorer, Hayden could become one of the best players in his class.
