Tuesday, I was in Greenville, South Carolina, to check out Greenville High School, a program with a ton of success over the past couple of years that has one of the deepest rosters in the state this year. Scholl is one of the best seniors in the state this year and will be one of its highest-volume shooters, too. He is their only player with a real presence around the rim, and he plays bigger than his listed size because of how high his motor is. Whether he's working the baseline or driving the ball, Ching's ability to put pressure on the rim is important to their offense. He put on a fantastic shooting display in practice on Tuesday, knocking down three-point shot after three-point shot. It didn't matter if he was standing still or moving, or if it was in live play or in drills; Scott rarely missed from deep range. This was my first look at him as a Red Raider after his cross-town move from JL Mann, but he looked just as good, if not better, than he did in his breakout freshman year. Coach Yerrick Stoneman had plenty of positive things to say about this freshman guard and how good he is. Hayden backed all of those things up on the court, displaying an elite passing feel, a balanced scoring package, and advanced physical tools that should translate into a huge freshman year.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Team Takeaway:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In terms of a balance between veteran experience and young talent, there aren't many programs in a better spot than Greenville heading into the 2026-27 season. [player_tooltip player_id='2027918' first='Tucker' last='Scholl'], a guy who has played big minutes and hit a ton of shots since his freshman season, will be their senior leader. [player_tooltip player_id='3777944' first='Anders' last='Ching'] is their only other 2027 who will play a big role simply because of the motor he brings on a daily basis, but they do have a handful of juniors who are ready to carry a lot of weight, like Point Guard [player_tooltip player_id='2630132' first='Kiishawn' last='Farrow'], transfer scorer [player_tooltip player_id='3600930' first='Kamden' last='Jones'], and premier shooter [player_tooltip player_id='3636999' first='William' last='Scott']. The addition of [player_tooltip player_id='3102377' first='Caiden' last='Williams'] and [player_tooltip player_id='3490586' first='Max' last='Hayden'] to the fold of guards only boosts their ceiling, and don't sleep on the defensive impact of [player_tooltip player_id='2872890' first='Dante' last='Kirksey'] as he finds his own offensively. The only real weakness of this team is their lack of size, but they will be as well-prepared and have as many dudes on the floor as any team they play this year.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
