Starks came to the Prep Hoops Sophomore ID camp at this same facility about a month ago and stood out and on Saturday he once again impacted the game at a high level. Starks is a tremendous transition athlete and scorer but his ability to make perimeter shots in the half-court like he did on Saturday could elevate his ceiling for Pickington North. Starks will get on the court due to his length, activity and slashing ability and the perimeter shooting development is just extra impact from one of central Ohio’s top 2029 wings.

A high motor wing, Starks found success scoring in the paint off drives, in transition and on second chance opportunities. One of the best athletes at the camp, Starks is fluid and quick for his height and can handle the ball in the open court. Starks was one of the leading scorers and rebounders at the camp as his athleticism stands out among his peers. If Starks can consistently knock down set shots from beyond the arc for Pickerington North this season he will be one of the most productive 2029 prospects in central Ohio.

Pickerington North got a couple of transfers to really boost their roster for this season but Starks was here last season and back to show the new Panthers how it’s done in Pickerington. Starks is an impressive slashing wing who has a long wingspan and has improved his ball handling and perimeter shooting ability since I first saw him as a freshman in the winter. Starks has the physical profile to be an impact wing defender as well and I’m hoping to see him average close to 2 steals a game this season as a goal.

Pickerington North is adjusting with a new lineup that has some young pieces and new faces on the Panthers roster. Starks individually had an impressive weekend in Columbus as he showed off his length, athleticism and improved ball handling ability. Starks makes quick and decisive decisions with the ball in his hands and had a couple rip and go moves and also a double crossover move to score. Long way till the season and I expect Pickerington North to gel and be ready to contend again with the best in central Ohio.

Starks found success on Saturday night with a handful of transition buckets, including a breakaway dunk where he got to show off his athleticism. A tough transition slasher, Starks is at his best when he’s attacking closeouts or leaking out in transition. Also knocking down a catch and shoot 3-pointer on the wing, Starks jumper will be a key swing skill for him to continue to master during the next couple fall offseasons. One of the more talented 2029 prospects from central Ohio, Starks should be a featured player for Pickerington North next season.
