About Artrell
Expert Analysis
Doneah Marshall | Prep Hoops Scout
Artrell has already put the state of Michigan on notice, and it won’t be too long before the nation catches up. He has the prototype size that’s sought after for his position at the collegiate level with the skills to match. Essentially, he’s liable to score from anywhere on the court. He loves to play off the dribble and doesn’t need much space to get his shots off when doing so. He used his strength and large frame to get to his spots and rise over smaller defenders or finish through contact all weekend at Midwest Mania. Artrell has the potential to be one of the top recruits in his class once it’s all said and done.

Burt wasn’t in Grand Rapids just to score. He impressed me with his fundamentally sound defense. He was well schooled in that department. Burt forced angles and kept the inside arm at the waist and the outside arm extended.

Burt had an eye catching day at the Freshman Showcase. He has a frame and build that looks ready for high level high school ball already. Burt was a 2 way player. He had a steal that led to points on the other end, then at least 1 more swipe that I saw on the perimeter. Burt scored in a variety of ways, from transition 2’s to triples from the top.

This is a name that coaches and scouts need to remember. Burt is just incredibly physically gifted. Burt has the ability to shake defenders on the perimeter. He effectively uses a jab stap, ball fake and a crossover to create space or put a defender on his hip.

Artrell, the 6’4” guard, is the complete package—built for the next level and already playing like it. He’s shifty with the ball in his hands, using elite handles and quick changes of pace to create separation. Whether breaking defenders down on the perimeter or attacking the lane, Artrell finishes at the rim with power and authority. He pairs that with a confident jumper, making him a threat from all three levels. With size, skill, and a fearless mentality, Artrell has the tools and mindset to thrive at the next level and beyond.
