Malik Woods Malik Woods 5'8" | PG Spring Valley | 2029 State SC was on loan with the Midlands-based Southeast Elite this weekend at UA Grind Greenville. Woods was effective as a pass-first Point Guard, racking up 10 points and 5 assists in a win over Alabama Truth Select. Whether it’s in the half-court or on the break, Malik always has his head up looking to find an open teammate. He puts good touch on the ball and can fit passes through tight windows, too. Just because he’s an elite passer doesn’t mean he won’t be aggressive as a scorer, though, because Woods can pull up from three off the dribble or get to the paint and finish around bodies when a bucket is needed.

Lugoff-Elgin was one of the 5A teams that well-outperformed expectations in 2025-26, and this freshman guard was a crucial reason why. Malik showed some impressive flashes as a shifty playmaker and knockdown shooter, so he’s one I’m excited to get more eyes on and see progress over the years.
