The most experienced player on this team. Opened with a pair of threes. Also Impressed with his movement off the ball to get open and got very involved as a passer. He hit another pair of contested three’s early in the 3rd quarter to keep guilford ahead. Ended with 18 points. Growing even as a senior.

He’s a player I’ve watched for a couple years now. But I’ve seen Johnson’s game immensely improve throughout this year. It started last winter when he led Rockford Guilford to a NIC-10 title as a Junior. On the AAU circuit, Johnson helped Greater Purpose find plenty of success at numerous Prep Hoops events. His ability to get hot from deep and improvise in a way to make his team better were two of the biggest areas of growth. Additionally, he shows plenty of athleticism and can fly down the lane for dunks. This fall, he put on a show at the Xposure runs while also leading Guilford to a spot in the PH Illinois Top 40. Recently, he’s led Guilford to a pair of big wins against CPS and Illinois powers Simeon and Whitney Young.

A pure two-way point guard with plenty of varsity experience. Shined over the summer at Romeoville and on Greater Purpose. Brings so much confidence to the floor with his ability to shoot off the dribble and attack the rim. Can suprise you with his bounce as I’ve seen him throw down big time dunks since his sophomore year of high school.

have one at this event. To everyone watching I think it was pretty obvious that Johnson oozes confidence and he turned that confidence into consistent production on the floor. In each game that he competed in, Johnson was lighting it up from deep, throwing down strong dunks in transition, and getting others involved whenever an opportunity would present itself. Throughout everyone that I saw play at this Showcase, Johnson was definitely one of my favorites and one I’ll keep an eye on moving forward. I’m not exactly sure what his college interest is a this moment but wherever he ends up, if he stays disciplined, he is going to be successful at whatever is put in front of him.

Malachi has impressed all spring with his ability to create on the perimeter. He did that again over the weekend, but was more aggressive getting into the paint as well. Showcased some explosive pop to get up and finish above the rim multiple times against Team Rose, and also uses that athleticism to create separation with ease on the perimeter. If your offense isn’t getting results, Malachi is the type of player you can just give the ball to and he’ll find a way to put points on the board.
