The Ironmen are 5-0 and coming off a big rivalry win over Normal West. While they haven’t had that “statement win”, they’re expected to play some high-level competition coming up. This includes Peoria Manual Dec 8, Thornton Dec 16, Richwoods Jan 12, and DePaul Prep Jan 20. They’ll also face Metamora and Moline later in the season. On the team, Braylon Roman Braylon Roman 6'3" | SG Normal Community | 2024 State IL has shown so much. An athletic, versatile combo guard who has bounce in transition and makes all the right reads defensively. He also displayed plenty of confidence shooting the ball. Jaheem Webber Jaheem Webber 6'9" | C Normal Community | 2024 State #300 Nation IL has also put together a nice season. A dominant force inside who earns buckets the hard way and a big time rim protector.
One of the biggest climbers this week was Warren. The Blue Devils picked up two big as they took down Bolingbrook and New Trier. Their lone loss was a close game to Mt. Carmel. Another big climber was Bloom, who went on the road and beat Thornton. The Trojans sit at 4-1 with their lone loss coming against Homewood-Flossmor.
Five new teams join the rankings. St. Patrick, Lindblom, Lincoln Park, Riverside-Brookfield, and Rockford Guilford. Guilford is the only team to re-enter the rankings after knocking off Simeon 62-57. Malachi Johnson Malachi Johnson 6'2" | SG Rockford Guilford | 2024 State IL continues to evolve and could be Rockford’s MVP this season.
