Luther was an energizer off the bench for Team FSA. The Totino-Grace forward changed games when he came in, fighting for every rebound and loose ball, sprinting up the floor each possession, and showing he can defend a variety of spots on the floor. His strength helped him finish with efficiency in traffic, but even without getting many looks he was having a big impact on the game. He’s someone who’s going to come in and give 100% every minute he’s on the floor.

I had sparingly seen Luther play this past summer and it was good to see him again in an expanded role. He used his strong 6’5” frame to be a force inside in the one matchup I watched. He is an excellent rebounder, being capable of playing physically inside against other forwards. He is a solid finisher at the basket as well, having some nice rolls and cuts to the basket for layups.

Bunge is the kind of guy on a team that you can always rely on to do what he is supposed to do. It was a very chippy game for his D1MN squad against a tough WOTN team, but he was able to weather the storm when the momentum shifted. Bunge also took a very timely charge, which completely changed the tide of the game. Bunge is so consistent under the basket and is one of the best rebounders I’ve watched.

Luther spent time playing with both the 16u and 17u teams for D1 Minnesota Gold, and was a solid performer on both ends of the floor. He has a strong frame for a sophomore, and combines that with his 6’5 height to slow down opposing bigs. Does a great job of walling up to protect the rim, and is capable of holding his ground when bigs try to back him down. Offensively he’s effective out of the high post because he can face up and attack, but also has the vision to pass out of that spot. I really like the effort that Luther plays with, hunting down any rebound or loose ball that comes his way.
