Short is a fascinating prospect. The 6-foot-5 forward is an above the rim athlete and has excellent strength, quickness and explosiveness for his size and age. His shot looks a bit wonky, but he’s able to hit it occasionally off the bounce, and he’s learning how to make decisions at a faster level. He’s going to really develop this season with Dexter, where he’ll probably get some minutes off the bench and will be able to go against bigger and stronger players consistently in practice. Keep an eye on Short moving forward — he could be a scholarship prospect in a couple years.
