Goncalves is a prospect that in time could have a few options to choose from when it comes to playing at the next level. He is a 4 at the next level that could really spread the floor with some of the quickness and potential he has off the dribble. With his back to the basket he does a good job of getting to his spots and if he can continue to work on his 15-footer he is going to be a problem.

Goncalves has a chance to really make a name for himself this Spring/Summer. With next level potential and size as a SF. This Spring he has turned into a willing rim protector and he looks stronger and more sure of himself on the floor. If he could get consistent with his back to the basket and sprinkle in some face-ups here and there Goncalves could easily make a rise in his stock.

Goncalves is in a unique position as he continues to develop he could get. some valuable minutes here and there and could easily use that time on the floor to gain experience and help his team this season and in years to come. He is a player that moves well and has a solid foundation. He can play with his back to the basket but also face up. Look for him to continue to get reps and get in and he could really add depth to his team in the height department.

With time to develop you can see flashes of some instinctual IQ stuff from him. He could be a grab and go big in time. Right now he is a bit reluctant as he rebounds and waits for the transition defense to clear. He could develop that handle and push the tempo ability because he has some good throw and go’s as he is following the ball as a forward looking to set screens and get into some roll action. He actually has soft hands too.

Goncalves looked very comfortable with his back to the basket and he was two, maybe 3 dribbles in when he made some moves, which is th right amount of time before a traditional defense rotates over. Solid over the left shoulder using the glass and he does not need to be on the block, with his length he can be in the mid-post and turn and score. If he works on quick moves and uses that quickness to his advantage he could be a stock riser. He has some perimeter defending ability as well. He was impressive.

Goncalves is a player that has seemingly come out of nowhere and mainly because he has grown quite a bit over the past year. He looks stronger and more mobile and his perimeter game is taking shape. He could be a new name to track and a stock riser in the class.
