Ari Rosenfeld | Prep Hoops Scout
A true Swiss-army knife who thrives as an undersized ‘4’ for Central Dauphin, Roberts was the unsung hero for the state champion Rams on their way to taking home the hardware. He consistently played bigger than his size, guarding the opponents’ biggest players inside with his stout frame and rugged toughness. Roberts is a consistent workhorse inside, finding his way to consistent double-figure scoring performances throughout the postseason with his extra efforts, steady finishing touch, and nose for the ball on the glass. He also shows an ability to attack off the dribble and space the floor to the perimeter in spurts. His ability to thrive from a junkyard role in a winning situation should earn Roberts scholarship-level attention over the next year.

I really like how he embraces doing the dirty work for his team on the interior. He converts easy buckets inside and has no problem using his size and strength to his advantage around the rim. He also showed the ability to stretch the floor with his perimeter shot-making. Roberts added 9 points in the win. In addition, his work on the offensive glass helped keep possessions alive and created extra scoring opportunities for his team.

Having already played hero just a few weeks ago with a wild buzzer-beater against Cumberland Valley, Roberts came up clutch once again with the game-winning bucket in the final seconds. As he’d done all night, he used his size and broad shoulders to carve out position inside and finish strong through traffic. Roberts scored 13 points while also showing some capability attacking advantages off the bounce and scoring off of faceups from the foul line area. He brings a blue-collar approach, shown through his activity on the offensive glass and versatility guarding across ‘1’ through ‘4’ on the defensive end. Despite being a bit of a tweener, he has the type of production and winning traits that tend to translate somewhere at the scholarship level.

Really like the way that he has a nose for scoring grunge buckets time in and time out during the game. He always seems in the right places on the floor. 8 of his 13 were scored in the 2nd half. His ability to be able to exploit mismatches is one of his best traits. He shagged a few rebounds and even had an assist. I like how Roberts hustled allowed him to convert on 2nd chance efforts.

Khalil is going to see hard work pay off as a junior after an impressive off-season in the gym and on the MADE Hoops circuit with Central PA Elite. Roberts plays well both on and off the ball. As a ball handler, he is aggressive in his pursuit of the basket and finishes well through contact. He also plays off of two feet and has excellent footwork. His pull-up game is one of many areas that he continues to develop. Off-ball, he is a brilliant slasher with a great feel of when and where to cut. The two-way player will make for a talented upperclassman at Central Dauphin.

#101…Roberts is a versatile, athletic, fast, and bouncy guard prospect who right now, is serving as the ideal “glue guy” in a star studded CD lineup. He can score in the open court, pop threes, work the offensive glass for put backs and slash back door for lay-ins. Roberts is averaging 5points per game for a talented CD squad that should make a deep run in the state tournament. He scored a season high 11 points (1 three) and grabbed 9 boards in a win over Carlisle. He also posted 10 points during CD’s defeat of PCL contender Archbishop Ryan. On defense, Roberts possesses active hands and quick lateral movements. That combination enables Roberts to pick opponent’s pockets frequently.
