PHD: Walk me through your off-season. What did you do to improve your basketball game?

“My offseason has been getting in the gym, weight room, and just watching film.“

PHD: What’s one specific part of your game you focused on improving this offseason, and where do you feel like you’ve made the most progress?

“One specific thing I’ve been trying to improve is my shooting ability and being able to handle pressure when bringing the ball up. One thing that I’ve improved on is definitely my outside shooting.“

PHD: What does your fall look like right now? Are you playing another sport, or is it all basketball focused?

“My fall has just been me being all focused on basketball this upcoming year and getting my body back to 100%.“

PHD: What are your goals for the coming season, both individually and for your team?

“My individual goals this year are just being able to lead my teammates and doing anything I need to do to help the team win. Some goals I have for my team are making it to State Tournament, winning our Region, and the NEC.“

PHD: Can you give some insight on an influential coach you have had? What made them memorable?

“One coach who has had a huge impact on me is Brian Dolan. He believed in me before I fully believed in myself. He gave me the opportunity to start as a freshman and trusted me to go out there and make plays. He pushed me to be a better player but also a better person. The confidence he gave me has stuck with me for the past couple years, and I’m really grateful for all the time he gave me.“

“I’d like to shoutout Easton Weber Easton Weber 6'1" | PG Groton | 2028 State SD , and watch out for Anthony Tracy Anthony Tracy 5'11" | SG/CG Groton | 2029 State SD this upcoming year.“

PHD: Who is your favorite player to watch in college or the NBA, and why?

“My favorite NBA player to watch is Kyrie Irving. I like watching him because our games are similar. We’re both point guards who can shoot the ball, create our own shots, and get to the rim. I also like how creative he is with the ball and how he can create plays for himself and his teammates.“

PHD: Where do you feel like your game has grown the most in the past year or two?

“My game has definitely grown in the point guard position; I’m a lot more comfortable being able to handle the pressure. Also, being able to create a lot more shots for my teammates and getting them open.“

PHD: Who pushes you the hardest, whether that’s a teammate, a coach, or someone you train with?

“My AAU coach, Dwight Walker, pushes me the hardest. He wants me to be the best player I can be and also wants me to take on challenges most people don’t want to do.“

PHD: Where is your hot spot on the floor or can you tell us about a “go-to” move you like to use?

“My hotspot is definitely in the midrange; I love dribble pull-ups and fadeaways. My go-to move is probably just using my first step off a pass or an in-and-out crossover.“

This uber-athletic Tiger had a great club season and summer of hoops. Zak is a do-it-all player. Karson has sharp handles, moves explosively, and scores from all three levels. He also defends 1 through 4. Zak is a clutch scorer who can go get his own.

-Had a great floater and pull-up game going also on the day

-Plays off of two feet as well as anyone ive seen

-Scores vs bigger defenders in the paint better then almost any other guard

-Quick hands and great defensive anticipation

-Gifted & explosive athlete, coordinated high octane finisher, amazing body control

-Accurate jumper shooter, sweet stroke from 3 & mid-range, space-creating handles

-Elite playmaker

-True three level scorer

-Made several tough and contested shots from outsider and in the paint

-Had a nice mid range floater game going today

-Don’t think he gets enough credit for how well he sees the floor

-Draws a ton of defensive attention which opens up the floor for eveyone else to be affected

-Team is just much better when hes on the floor

Only a few players in the whole state may have finished off the high school season hotter then Karson. Karson went on a scoring barrage in the state tournament hitting huge shot after huge shot and also putting up big numbers vs some of the states best players. He does it all very well and at times makes it look easy. Not just offensively very good hes also proven to be a realy good defender. Very good athlete as he can play above the rim at times also.

-26 points, 6-17 fg’s, 4-5 3fg’s, 10-11 ft’s, 5 rebounds, 4 assists

-Absolutely caught fire second half

-Got a glimpse of what kind of a season hes gonna have next year

-Scored in all ways possible

-Proved to be a true three level scorer vs bigtime competition

-Had some nice shake with the ball and was hard to keep infront of

-Bigtime pull up three at the end of the 4th to bring them within 3 points

-Hits step back three late in 1st OT that was seriously one of the shots of the tournament and kept groton alive

-Comes right back the next possession and hits an even tougher Steph Curry deep three with a man in his face to send the game into Double OT

-Good handles

-Made alot of high IQ plays, anticipation plays on defense, making the right plays on offense/correctly using screens

-Able to make quick and correct decisions
