Out Of The Shadows: SD Class A Break Out Players

Each season brings players who seem to mature physically/mentally/skill set or IQ wise on the basketball court. Some do it on the AAU Circuit some during team camps and alot of them do it in both. All these players put in the time and also self evaluate themselves honestly turning there weaknesses into strengths to bring an improved and total package to the teams they play for come winter.   In this article PH will go over a few players we believe have a chance to break out this coming season. Some already proven names and some names that definitely need to be brought up into the conversation for a variety of reasons.    Combo guard with elite shooting skills and unlimited range to match. Absolute sinper from three/automatic catch and shoot player. Skilled ball handler with quick first step and wicked crossover. Had a big and productive summer playing for Sanford Black. Shows great court vision and has high IQ. Has an extremely high ceiling.     Major had a great spring and summer with Sanford 14U Black. Has next level basketball IQ and court awareness. Showed the consistent ability to nock down deep contested shots vs excellent competition. Crafty ball handler with ability to keep defenders at bay with great change of pace. With other teams focusing on stud combo guards [player_tooltip player_id='2475034' first='Karson' last='Zak'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2475033' first='Easton' last='Weber'], Dolan should be in line for some major output this season.     Derrick had another solid summer with the Heiser program. Flute can step out and shoot it well with good range and a nice shooting stroke. He is a strong physical player who has the ability to defend bigger guys and out of position alot of the times. Has a nice midrange game to match his deep shooting and a nice ability to score vs bigger guys and through contact. Nice all-round offensive weapon for Sisseton.     Impressive length to go along with his offensive skill set makes Lincoln a very difficult guard on the defensive end of the floor. Great looking shot with high basketball IQ and a willing passer who sees the floor very well. Was able to see him a few times this summer and must say he looked the part. Not just an outside scorer he showed the ability and smarts to score inside and in traffic with either hand.     Anthony has had a very good and productive summer with team ball and with his AAU team [program_tooltip program_id='2337876' first='James' last='Valley Thunder']. Hes 5"11 but plays like hes 6'3 tough physical hard defender who will flat out guard you on one end then use his strength and quickness to go right by you on the other end. Hard driver and strong finisher at the basket through contact but can also step outside and nock down a three if left open. He's a mutli skilled guard who's only gotten better the last couple years with no sign of slowing down.     Long/rangy high IQ baller from west central had a nice summer with team Warwick. With the ability to stretch the floor from the outside and use his length vs certain matches on the inside his versatility will surely be needed. With the losses of players like Will Kuhl and Kolte Garry Caden is set up nicely to step in and contribute this season for the defending Champs.     With so much attention on and rightfully so players like [player_tooltip player_id='2078157' first='Aiden' last='Hanssen'] [player_tooltip player_id='2250490' first='Eli' last='Plank'] and Drake Mikkelsen, Cohen not only could end up having a breakout season but end up being a big contributor for the Orioles. Great size/length and a very well rounded game there isn't anything he cant do. Shooter ✔️ rebounding ✔️ guard multiple positions ✔️ handle the 🪨 ✔️ nice touch in and around the basket ✔️ look for not only Cohen but the Lennox Orioles to make alot of noise this coming season.
