I just watched Haywood a couple days ago as he’s helped turn Dublin Scioto around this season. One of the more athletic wings in central Ohio, Haywood is able to dunk it on a defenders head and also knock down an open shot. A prospect who played on the Prep Hoops Circuit, Haywood should be a priority small college recruit for schools around the area.

Haywood is an impressive athlete who is an intriguing two-way wing for small college programs. Strong and athletic, Haywood plays bigger than his listed height in the paint and is tough to move around. Offensively, he’s best in transition when he’s able to attack the rim and cut to the basket. After being named to the all OCC team last season, expect even more honors to come Haywood’s way as a senior.

Haywood was another Nova prospect making a big impact in a marquee Friday night showdown. With an undersized squad, Haywood had to defend Obc’s biggest player for most of the time he was on the court. With his explosive leaping ability, he soared for a couple blocked shots. It was the offensive end where he made his impact with his quickness and ability to hit shots with a high arcing release. Haywood has made some strides over the past couple months and should be attracting small college interest throughout the summer and heading into his senior season.

Another impressive wing athlete, Haywood has stood out for one of Nova-Village’s 17 U squads already this spring and is coming off an all-conference Junior season for Dublin Scioto.

Haywood really impressed me this weekend. The kid was playing his tail off and doing whatever it took to help his team win. He is only listed at 6’3 but plays so much bigger. He is a strong kid that moves people around. Athletic enough to guard and switch onto guards but strong enough to bang in the post for positioning and rebounds. He can truly guard all five positions. He was a monster on the boards. Really impacted the game with his activity on the boards. Finished very well around the rim but this kid was doing all the little things to help his team win this weekend.

I watched Haywood play twice and one thing stays consistent for him, buckets. A kid can flat-out score. Once he sees one go in a lot more are going to follow. His teammates started to feed him as well and look for him because his hand gets hot quickly. Very good at getting to the rim. Good wingspan and bounce.
