Extremely productive in the minutes he was given and supplying impact that extends far beyond traditional box score production, Johan Stephenson Johan Stephenson 6'5" | CG/SG Roselle Catholic | 2027 State NJ put together moments of the level of activity that could translate into extended minutes. Taking full advance of the minutes he was given, Stephenson consistently found ways to keep himself on the floor— competing on the defensive end with infectious intensity containing drives out on the perimeter and playing bigger than his size suggests on the interior, playing with timely anticipation in the passing lanes to turn deflections and strong weak side defense into easy offense on the other end, generating second chance possessions on the offensive glass, crashing the boards with energy to secure possessions on the defensive glass, and even offering impactful finishing in transition and in the dunker spot area.

A deep reserve on a senior-laden Roselle team a year ago, Stephenson slotted in as a starter on Saturday for a revamped Lions program and impressed with his high-energy contributions on the margins. He served as a valuable utility piece on the wing, filling in gaps on either end of the floor. His biggest highlight came when he jumped a passing lane leading to a runout dunk in transition but he also racked up scrap points while showing his nose for the ball and ability to finish swiftly with either hand. Stephenson’s defensive versatility and ability to thrive without the ball should give Roselle a nice boost this season and help put him on college radars in the process.

An ultra athletic, slashing wing with good length, that does a good job of getting to and using his athleticism to finish at the rim, Johan Stephenson Johan Stephenson 6'5" | CG/SG Roselle Catholic | 2027 State NJ will look to add a unique combination of size, athleticism, length, and two way versatility to this year’s 16U GB Blue Devils lineup. An aggressive attacker of the basket, Stephenson is fully capable of finishing above the rim, both on halfcourt dribble drives and in the open floor in transition. Look for Stephenson to also use his length to be a versatile defender, capable of guarding 1 through 5.
