Ledbetter remains one of the better scorers available in the Class of 2024. The senior mixed in deep threes throughout the contest and remains sneaky dangerous off the dribble. His compact frame allows him to play strong on drives, which pairs with a good first step. There’s little wasted motion in his dribble, even when changing directions. Which is something he should continue to lean on, quick and decisive moves to get downhill and pressure the paint. Ledbetter also has a “low man” wins type ability around the rim, which helps him as a finisher.

The senior carried the scoring load for the young Sabercats. He did it in about every way possible. He opened the scoring with a DEEP three pointer, then went to work all over the court. From backdoor cuts, scoop scores with either hand at the rim to avoid defenders, along with spinning, twirling shots in the mid-range. This included tough, clutch scores in the fourth quarter of the back and forth contest.
Scoring is the prominent part of Ledbetter’s DNA. But he was more than just a bucket getter, he was better as a distributor. He leans toward still being a combo guard, but his play in ball screens and keeping his head up on drives were a strong improvement. That helped elevate the play of his teammates.

Ledbetter finishes like a bigger guard, with his combination of skill and strength, he’s turned into a crafty finisher, capable of playing through contact. In some way he’s turned what should be a disadvantage, only standing around 6 foot, into a strength thanks to his low center of gravity. He has some bowling ball like aspects on drives, “low man wins”. He also has a deceptive first step, that pairs very well with his continued development of his ball handling ability and off the dribble shooting from three.
At the RUN showcase he switched from draining threes with defender’s hands in his face to punishing them with drives. He even showed off his improving athleticism by punching in a slam on the break. With his skilled scoring package, Ledbetter is likely to have some big scoring nights this winter in a rugged Class 6A.

The hero of the night for Team Griffin Select in a tight battle. Watching Ledbetter this last year, he has proven to be a tough shotmaker. Most often it’s come on tough finishes at the rim. But he’s capable from distance and that’s what he dialed up in a tied contest in the closing moments. The Southmoore Sabercat drilled a tough three pointer to break the tie and deliver his squad an opening victory.

While Ledbetter can hit from distance, his ability to find ways to score off drives remains very impressive for a smaller guard. One benefit is his strength, and solid burst, when it comes to taking contact around the rim. Which also shows up when he’s grabbing offensive rebounds. He was a menace off the bounce in the semifinal victory for his squad on Sunday.
