got downhill frequently yesterday for the Rattlers. He has a quicker first and second step than opponents anticipate, which usually gives him enough separation to get to the rim. Like Gordon, Luna feasted at the charity stripe, converting on seven of his attempts. On the other end, he played physical defense and made opponents work to gain ground.

utilized his ability to accelerate past defenders frequently last night. He does a nice job of waiting for the right moment to attack and picks up real speed as he gets closer to the cup. I was also a fan of how he was getting to the line. He added a quality steal on defense, using his anticipation to take it the rest of the way. While the Rattlers didn’t get the win, he emptied the tank.

continued his strong showing at the basketball combine and won the game of knockout. Then he made the semifinals in the 3-point competition. While he has a knack for getting to the rack, he should be able to make teams pay from beyond the arc as well this year.

, hit the gas pedal and breaks extremely well, and posted the top time in the Pro Agility Drill with a time of 4.46 seconds. Considering the movement efficiency that is needed, I believe that he may that he may be a playmaker on defense this season. And he should be a guy that is able to score and dish out assists in transition as well.

, posted a 33 inch vertical in the Max Vert Test. He also posted a 18.3 inch vertical in the CMJ. Both were good for 5th in each category. Although he is just 6’0, he proved that he has the jumping ability to go up for boards with wings and forwards. We might see some dunks from him this season as well.

, is a bit craftier than I knew. He uses deceptive ball-handling and change of direction to slip by defenders or to get to his spot. If he gets to the basket, he’s capable of making tough finishes through contact. If there isn’t room to drive he can connect on 3-pointers or pull up jumper.

moves up in the ranks due to his athleticism, shot-making ability, and overall feel for the game. If he wants to get downhill he usually can, and I’ve seen an impressive layup package from him over the last few months. I’m sure Mojave will have some solid matchups down at Section 7, and it will be to great see how he and Mojave do.

turned on the after burners to make a few of his lay-ups against Desert Pines last week. He was also battling on defense and staying active with his hands. Luna may be able to make some noise at Section 7 if he plays like that there.

made valuable contributions on both ends of the court for the Rattlers. On offense, he made his free throw attempts and had a nice drive to the cup. On defense, he marked his man well and stayed active with his hands. His top play of the night was when he stole the ball from an Arbor View guard, pushed the ball up court, and then dished it to
