Simpson had some moments over the Summer where he really turned it up a notch. Simpson was a force for Morgan Dawgs as a true PG who the team rallied behind. He went on scoring runs by himself, pushed the pace, attacked in every game and challenged other guards. He’s a very underrated passer who takes chances on the floor and if he keyed in on the passing prowess I feel as if he would be even more dangerous. We saw Grant lead Morgan Dawgs to plenty of wins on our circuit, take that play out of state and do the same and he also came out to our Expo last week and showed that he could compete and standout with some of the top guards in the state. Grant is a floor general who Riverdale Ridge will look to lead the way for them the year and he should have a positive season where he turns heads. His play as of late is why he will be in the Top-100 in the rankings. I am sure he wants to rise and he’ll get a chance to. He’s making his debut this week.

Simpson showed us he was a true guard who wanted the ball in his hands and wasn’t afraid to handle pressure. He was at his best when he got downhill, attacked gaps and put defenders on their heels. The aggression was obvious as he wanted to make something happen every time he touched it. What stood out was the need to become a more complete offensive player. When Simpson settled into a facilitator role, he showed flashes of really good playmaking. The scoring mentality was there, but The Expo gave us a closer look at how much more impact he could have when he balanced scoring with creating for others

Simpson was one of my favorite discoveries from the weekend. The more I watched him, the more I appreciated how he controlled every game and possession. He kept the ball on a string, dictated tempo, and consistently made the right read. The behind-the-neck wraparound dime was probably the pass of the event for me personally, as he was very unselfish and a true PH, but his shot-making impressed me just as much. He finished through length, converted tough and-one opportunities in multiple games, and capped the weekend with a buzzer-beating three against a very talented Hard2Guard squad. He wasn’t in the rankings last update, but after this performance, he’s firmly in the conversation.

Simpson brought playmaking instincts and awareness, and that shined brightest in the 3 on 3 portion of the day. He picked off passes, turned defense into transition points, and facilitated as a catalyst offensively. His IQ allowed him to impact the game without forcing the issue like so many other prospects there.  Simpson looks to be a steady two-way guard as he made smart reads and played with energy, which made him one of the more dependable players to watch.

Simpson put on a clinic at the point guard spot, playing with poise and confidence throughout the game. He controlled the tempo, dictating the pace and keeping his team in rhythm. His vision stood out as he consistently found cutters for easy buckets, and his quick first step allowed him to blow by defenders off the dribble. Simpson was efficient scoring from all areas, finishing strong at the rim, knocking down midrange jumpers, and showcasing his deep range with accurate shooting from beyond the arc

Simpson is a pure point guard that did an excellent job of running the show. He played with maturity and never tried to force situations. He set his teammates up beautifully and even showed that when needed that he could get buckets himself.

Grant is as tough as they come, anchoring his team with high-level defense in the backcourt. He also displayed a diverse scoring ability, contributing in multiple ways.
