Samuel Rich | Class of 2028 Shooting Guard | Eagle Ridge Academy | Morgan Dawgs Elite (Denver, CO). Don’t let the class year fool you—Samuel Rich is no ordinary freshman. At just 13 years old, he began competing with the Morgan Dawgs Elite program on U15, U16, and U17 squads, showcasing the confidence, skill, and toughness well beyond his years. Now starring at Eagle Ridge Academy,

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

A sharpshooting guard with elite range and sniper-like accuracy, Samuel can stretch any defense and create space with ease. But it’s not just about the three-ball. His rebounding and defensive presence make him a complete two-way threat—a true embodiment of the Morgan Dawgs mentality: gritty, relentless, and team-first.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

His rise hasn’t gone unnoticed. Samuel has been featured in multiple write-ups by Prep Hoops and RecruitLook Hoops, who’ve highlighted his high ceiling and maturity on the court. His basketball IQ, work ethic, and poise under pressure are setting him apart as one of Colorado’s brightest young stars.

What type of college are you looking for?

My ultimate goal is to play for Gonzaga University and Coach Mark Few.

Rich is a player who will be making another jump in the rankings after putting up another stellar individual season. He has jumped in each rankings but this year is where he really put the state on notice as he was named as an All-State Honorable mention as only a sophomore. Rich filled it up this season, finishing with 17.9 points a game and scoring in double figures in all but one game, and that was despite each team playing him with a box-and-one and sending double teams. The 6’4 do-it-all wing checks off plenty of boxes as a solid rebounder (7.9 rpg), he makes smart reads, and finishes above the basket. This season, he looked more assertive, he took over offensively, and his athleticism shone through. He will make a rise in the rankings this go round, and I am sure he also has a monster summer where there can be room to grow.
