I attended the annual Prep Hoops AZ Bash in the Desert at the Phhacility in Phx May 1-3. I viewed nearly every team in the 17U division and came up with nine all-17U Teams.

Here is the 3rd team

[player_tooltip player_id='2772309' first='Drew' last='Copple'] Highland (East Valley Select 17) (Pictured)

A thicker wing forward is a good passer who will score with cuts off the ball and he can defend from inside and out. He scores getting downhill with his stronger frame and size, he handles it really well to not get it stolen in the paint and has fast bursts of speed with his right hand. He will ball fake inside and will go up strong and score with offensive rebound put backs plus rattle in the three.

[player_tooltip player_id='2717233' first='Travon' last='Darby'] Red Mountain (UH Elite 17 Gold)

A physical framed point guard who can facilitate and score. He will drive and kick, up the court passes and find an open teammate plus score with downhill takes using his body and balance. He likes the floater game and he will hit the three off the catch. He is a top end rebounder for a guard.

Noah Grossroman SG 6'4 2028 Bishop Gorman (Vegas Elite 16 EYBL)

A bigger sized scoring guard who scores and defends. He is a very good rebounder and on-ball defender. He will score it with threes off the catch and he is explosive off of two-feet and takes contact well. He has a polished mid-range jumper and brings real energy to the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='2332290' first='Amir' last='Kendrick'] Cesar Chavez (AZ Legacy 17 3SGB)

A bigger point guard with next level court vision to thread the needle and sees plays developing quickly to find a teammate. He is a downhill attacker and will shoot it from mid to the three point line. He is a tough on-ball defender and overall defender.

[player_tooltip player_id='2421026' first='Samuel' last='Rich'] Eagle Ridge Academy/CO ([program_tooltip program_id='2860003' first='Morgan' last='Dawgs Elite'] 17)

A bigger shooting guard was playing up and holding his own. He has a big bag to score it with catch threes, rip thrus, mid-range pull-ups, (which seems to be his sweet spot), offensive rebound put backs as he is a quick second jumper and defends. He is long in the passing lanes and rebounds well. He will also make passes with either hand.

[player_tooltip player_id='2039513' first='DJ' last='Spencer'] AZ Compass Prep (Vegas Elite 17 EYBL)

A tough wing forward is improving as a shooter and he is truly a great passer with next feel for the game. He score with tough downhill takes, mid-range pull-ups and threes off the catch in rhythm. The lefty can defend a few positions from the 2-4. He transferred to AZ Compass Prep.

[player_tooltip player_id='2257790' first='Nicholas' last='Topolosek'] Liberty (AZ Storm 17)

A high level shooting combo guard can rattle in threes off the catch one by one. He has a nasty mid-range pull-up and his bounce keeps improving. He will dunk it with alley-oops and brings a strong frame to the court with toughness. He will also drive and kick it and rack up assists.

[player_tooltip player_id='3625560' first='Jamal' last='Wargu'] Bella Vista Prep (AZ Legacy 17 3SGB)

A newcomer for me is a high level athlete who dunks it effortlessly on the break. He will score with pull up threes or off the catch and he has a nice crossover and a quick first step with long strides to the basket. He has quick hands on defense and he is a good second and third jumper. He is also a very good passer.
