About Ethan

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Fast, controlled floor general (PG) with tight handles and strong vision. I push the pace, break down defenders, and create for teammates while attacking the rim when lanes open. Calm and poised in big moments, aggressive on defense, always applying pressure and making winning plays. I’m a competitor who values teamwork, effort, and consistently getting better every day.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I bring a relentless work ethic and a next-play mentality every time I step on the court. I don’t quit on possessions, games, or my teammates. I pride myself on playing with energy from start to finish and never letting up. I stay positive, keep my head up in adversity, and constantly encourage those around me. I’m the type of teammate who lifts others and competes until the final buzzer.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’ve been recognized with the Presidential Academic Award and an Academic Excellence Award for maintaining straight A’s. I’m also actively involved in youth groups at two different churches, where I focus on leadership, service, and supporting my community.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve developed leadership and teamwork skills both on and off the court. I lead by example through hard work and a positive attitude, always pushing to make my team better. I encourage teammates, stay composed in tough moments, and focus on helping everyone succeed.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I’ve faced the challenge of learning how to lead and succeed on teams where not everyone was focused on playing together. At times, individual goals came before team success, which pushed me to grow as a leader, communicate better, and set an example through effort and unselfish play. That experience taught me how important teamwork, trust, and accountability are in building a winning culture.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that values me as both a student and a person, with a strong academic program that will help me grow beyond basketball. I also want to be part of a competitive team environment that pushes me to improve every day, holds each other accountable, and strives for success together.

While on the shorter side at 5’9″, Goodwin displayed excellent court vision that allowed him to showcase his playmaking ability. He looks poised to have a meaningful role on Hamilton Heights this season.

We’ve had the opportunity to see Goodwin some with Refined Indiana this summer, but will be anxious to see him compete more with his Hamilton Heights team where he should morph into a varsity role this season. The talented point guard is trustworthy with the ball, plays with a great motor, and flashes some shot-making ability from the perimeter as well.

When Refined Indiana 15u needed a big bucket, it seemed like Ethan Goodwin Ethan Goodwin Ethan Goodwin 5'10" | PG/SG Hamilton Heights | 2028 IN was the guy. While he is on the smaller end right now, he was one of the better shooters I watched on the day on Sunday at Havoc in the Heartland. He is more of catch-and-shoot type of guard but is not afraid of attacking the lane as well.
