Expert Analysis
Justin Prather | Prep Hoops Scout
He will be the main man in the backcourt next season for Ferris. A great shooter who is a high energy player. I watched him light it up last summer. He was taking advantage of full use of court and was seemingly all over it. He has skills on the offensive end, starting with his ability to knock down shots from deep. He would have the green light on my team at all times. He currently sits at #36 in Prep Hoops Class of 2024 rankings.

The Ferris guard has grown his game so much over the summer. He continues to improve and build on his all-around game and has proven he can handle a variety of responsibilities. He can handle the ball and set up his teammates, stroke the three, and create looks off the dribble, but most importantly he continues to show a distinct ability to lead. Skaife is a big-time player lurking and ready to blow. He’s going to be a major issue in the Greater Spokane League this winter.

He will get an MVP award in one of the next two seasons in his league. He’s one that you probably don’t have to remind to work hard. That’s how he played in Bellevue. He was out there to win and it showed. He is a mature looking junior who has a ton of potential. Lights out shooting, toughness to the basket, plays defense. He is one to watch the next two years. That in itself was news to me until yesterday. I thought he was a senior. I said he looked college ready because of that. College ready junior here.

Say it ain’t so! I thought he was a senior. This kid had one of the best performances I saw all day. He was lights out from deep. He got to the basket and was great at finishing plays. I think the most impressive thing about him was that he ran circles around the defense, either to go by or pull up and shoot. He was able to get himself free. He was the best player on the floor and his teammate

This kid was better than advertised. He stood out in a big way in the game that I watched. He was dominant, scoring from all over the floor. His deep ball range might have been most impressive. He was knocking down tough shots from well beyond the three point line. Every part of his game was impressive. The way he handled the rock, he was doing what he wanted, when he wanted and much of that can be attributed to his ability to handle the ball and get his own shots. He showed quickness in getting to the rack, and he is strong and mature looking. He looks more like a college player to be honest and he was on another level most of the time. He got bucket after bucket there for a while, and he did it in dominating fashion. This kid is ready for a huge season and college coaches should be taking notice. I would definitely sign this kid. He has everything you want in a guard. Good size, athletic, shooter x2, creates his own, confidence, and college ready frame. Big things coming from him at Ferris this year.

He was an all league honorable mention pick for Ferris last season as a sophomore. A great shooter, he did a lot of damage from downtown last season. He’s going to have a much bigger role this year as Ferris graduated a lot of players from last year’s team. A 6’4 shooter who will be showcasing much more, as he takes over as one of the leaders this season. I have not seen him play in person and look forward to seeing the growth in his game.

No. 13 | Skaife looked like a sweet shooting wing last season but really grew as an all-around player this spring and summer. It’s going to be a completely new look at Ferris this winter with only Skaife and Patrick Murphy Patrick Murphy 6'7" | PF Ferris | 2023 State WA returning to the varsity squad. It will be fun to see him step into that leadership role. He hit multiple big shots for his AAU team this summer and seems ready to be the vocal guy leading from the front.
