Donta had a pretty solid start to the Spring as he showed that he could be a defensive stopper, he pressured high and turned guys over and that turned into easy scoring opportunities for him. If he was able to get that going for the entire year that could not only boost his stock but put him in a secret weapon spot. We’ve seen him have some key moments on varsity but not it’s about consistently doing it and against players who he could challenge where it turns into wins. There will be guards at the event that will go at him and test the type of defender he is and he’ll be able to also show if he can run an offense as well. This gives him a platform to show what he’s about and to boost his stock and name a bit heading into Senior year. 

Styles is the kind of player that makes you keep watching because his game is so fun and effective. He plays with great instincts and a natural feel for the action, always seeming to know where to be and when to strike. Once he sees an opening, he attacks with a strong drive, getting downhill with power and purpose. He finishes through contact, creates opportunities and keeps defenders under pressure. What stands out most is his scorer’s mindset and Styles knows how to put points on the board in a variety of ways. Dynamic, confident and exciting every trip down the floor

Styles Jr. played with a scrappy, relentless edge that stood out all tournament long. He consistently fought for every possession, diving for loose balls, battling on the glass and making hustle plays that energized his team. His versatility showed as he impacted the game in multiple areas, whether it was handling the ball, defending, or creating scoring opportunities. Offensively he found ways to produce, attacking the rim, knocking down shots and capitalizing on effort plays. He embraced contact and never backed down, bringing toughness on both ends. Styles Jr.’s do it all approach and competitive motor made him a constant presence and a key piece throughout the event

Styles was one of the glue guys for Palmer this year, who came into the game and provided a spark for Palmer. The guard was able to take care of the ball, did not force too much, and was efficient when he did take shots. He allowed the game to come to him, has a good change of pace which opens it up for himself and teammates, and also played hard when he was on the floor, which made him as one of the team’s better defenders. To close the season he was in a groove where he was grabbing boards with the bigs, passing teammates into open shots, and breaking down the defense, and that is the guard who is making his rankings debut. We’re excited to see how he looks this summer and hope he comes into his own this summer.
