Crowe’s normal co-star, Conerly was held quiet for much of the game, sitting on zero points until midway through the third quarter. He caught fire when it mattered most, however, ripping off 12 points down the stretch of the game, none bigger than his twisting and-one layup to tie the game and then take the lead in the closing seconds. Conerly was aggressive attacking closeouts with unorthodox but poised footwork and deft finishing touch, also dropping off a couple slick passes on the move. He used his length to get into passing lanes and cause deflections as well. It will take time for him to add muscle to his narrow frame, but the upside for Conerly could be really high when all is said and done.
