Will Armishaw | Prep Hoops Scout
Azor has the ability to be one of the top 3-and-D prospects in the region this winter. He transferred into Northfield Mount Hermon and is primed to announce himself as one of the top shooters around. He does a great job of staying wide in transition, can make shots from anywhere inside half-court, and has an extremely quick release on his jumper. He has the ability to make shots off the catch and also by creating space with the ball in his hands, using a drop dribble to keep defenders honest. Defensively, he has the ability to lock-down the opposition with his quickness, length, and toughness.

Azor is a high octane guard who can really fill it up on the offensive end. He has a knack for scoring from behind the arc and needs to be respected from out there whenever he steps foot onto the floor. He is always on the move trying to hunt for his own shot. His ability to apply great ball pressure and turn defense to offense was on full display. Azor is a prospect who should be a priority for small colleges.

Azor is a 6’2″ guard out of the Northfield Mount Hermon School. The 2026 prospect is a high academic player that thrives in his role as a 3-and-D guard. He takes pride in defending the opponents best perimeter scorer and uses his lateral quickness to his advantage when keeping opposing ball-handlers out of the paint. He’s known as an elite perimeter shooter, in both catch and shoot and off the dribble situations, but has shown an understanding of how to use ball screens to get into the paint and how to use his dribble to create space. He’s a high IQ prospect that continues to add wrinkles to his game offensively.

Azor completely dictated the pace of the game for his squad and looked like a true point guard out there on the floor during the showcase. In AAU, I’ve seen him hunt shots and take some questionable ones, but he looks to have really matured into a floor general that you want running your team. He makes all the passes you want from a PG; pocket passes in the pick and roll, cross court passes if the low man helps on the roller, and kick ahead/extra simple passes to open shooters. He can also score for himself via the floater or three ball when he needs to. He’ll be a really nice piece for NMH and was maybe the best PG I saw at Babson. I could see him playing D2 ball or very high level D3.

Azor transferred in from Tilton school and should immediately step into a starting role (or at least heavy minutes) for NMH. The 6-foot-2 combo-guard has the ability to play both ends of the floor and showcased a lot more passing chops than I knew he had. He normally shoots a ton for Team Northeast in AAU, but he was finding teammates for kickout and kick-ahead passes consistently this weekend. He also defends his position super well and is a pest on that end with some really good hands. I bet he’ll be a D2 or high D3 player.

Azor is a dog. I’m not sure he sat at any point during his squad’s game against Blueprint, and he still competed for the entire game on both ends and didn’t look tired. Offensively, he’s lightning-quick and extremely physical with the ball in his hands; he gets downhill and brushes off contact like it’s nothing. Defensively, he slides his feet incredibly well and was consistently beating the offensive player to the spot on Saturday. I’ll be curious to see whether Azor plays more on or off ball next season at Tilton – either way, he will definitely play in college somewhere.
