Ramey is a player who we were big on this summer, as he was a player who separated himself on the defensive end of the floor, and those players are prospects to build around. He played off instincts, pushed guys to work harder, and that helped his team get a few wins that got him on our top standouts list. Now we want him to bring the same energy to our showcase while adding that he’s an all-around player, and there’s more from when we last evaluated him. I think he’s capable of jumping on more radars, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to. 

Ramey looks like a prospect that could continue making major strides because his defensive instincts and competitiveness already separate him from many players in his class. He has a natural feel for disrupting offenses, whether it’s jumping passing lanes, pressuring the ball, or forcing opponents into difficult decisions. His ability to lock in defensively and consistently make scorers uncomfortable stood out throughout the weekend. Ramey competes with toughness, discipline and nonstop energy on every possession. As he continues developing physically and adding more polish offensively, his defensive impact alone gives him the potential to become a highly valuable two way player moving forward

Ramey was an absolute defensive wizard this past weekend. His effort and energy were off the charts, and opposing teams just couldn’t figure him out. He played smart, always seemed to be one step ahead, and had a great feel for reading passing lanes—he jumped a bunch of plays that turned into easy transition points. Where he really stood out was in his one-on-one defense. The guy he was guarding could barely got a clean look off all tournament. Ramey forced them to give the ball up instead of attacking the rim or pulling up for a jumper. He was just really locked in from start to finish

Ramey was a high energy defender who led the press and flew around the court, creating havoc by jumping passing lanes and coming away with steals. On offense, he attacked the paint and finished strong at the rim. Ramey also had the ability to knock down open shots from the perimeter, punishing defenders who gave him too much space.
