One of the top stock risers nationally in the 2026 class, Medlock has elevated himself from a mid major priority to a nationally ranked prospect with offers from both of the high major schools in his home state, Michigan and Michigan State. Medlock is one of the most talented scorers on the 3SSB circuit and had a stretch in the second half of the game I caught where he caught fire on pull-up shots. Medlock is also elite at drawing fouls and lived at the foul line during the game I was at. Finishing with 24 points and 5 assists, Medlock showcased his full offensive game on Thursday.

Medlock has been top notch this spring with Phenom United. He was big time again in Omaha at the 3SSB Session 2. Medlock used the fast first step and explosiveness that the state of Michigan has seen so many times. He averaged 22 points per game at the event.

Medlock has apparently been doing Medlock things with Phenom United. What are those things? How about creating off the bounce with extreme quickness and pin point passing on the move. Want more? Medlock is a creative finisher at the rim as well.

One of the top lead guards in the Midwest, Medlock Jr was killing it in a rivalry game between Phenom United and All Ohio Red. Medlock Jr plays with excellent pace off the dribble and does a great job of attacking off the bounce under control. Despite his incredible finishing ability and tough moves to get to the paint, I never think Medlock Jr is rushing a decision or dribbling into traffic. On a court where a bunch of players were inefficient and selfish, Medlock Jr did a nice job of letting the game come to him and taking advantage when he found openings to attack.

Carlos is fluid with the ball in his hands and prefers to operate out of the high screen. Just as well as he can get downhill, he can also shoot the three with deep range. On the other end, Medlock applies intense ball pressure and forces turnovers.

Carlos Medlock should be on everyone’s Mr. Basketball list when next season rolls around. He’s just electric with the ball in his hands. Medlock can create and attack with his handles, always finding a look at the rim. He finished with a game high 29 points and and added 8 rebounds. Maybe the most impressive part of his game was the way he was able to score at a high volume, but still distribute the ball as well. Medlock finished the game with 6 assists.

Medlock has had a breakout season to say the least. He’s always been this good, but people are finally starting to take notice. Medlock is known as a shooter, but he’s much more than that. He has very tight handles and he can consistently move defenders with them. Medlock has a very good mid range shot and overall game.

One of the top scorers in Michigan’s 2026 class, Medlock Jr already went over the 1,000 point mark the night prior as Wayne Memorial went 2-0 against strong northeast Ohio competition. An elite shooter off the dribble, Medlock Jr is a tough cover on the perimeter. With a handful of regional Division I coaches in attendance, Medlock Jr made the most of his opportunity in Cleveland this weekend with two strong performances.

Medlock made a deserved jump in the rankings. He has a very legitimate argument to be higher. There’s a ton of close competition around his number. Medlock is a playmaker with the ball in his hands and can fill it up with a tough pull up jumper. Medlock is mentally and physically prepared for the next level.
