2024 Assane Mbaye is one of NJ’s top available prospects standing at 7’3 it’s a no brainer why he’s a key X factor in any uniform he puts on. Assane has quite of bit of skill and motor for his size, defensively he’s a monster blocking any and everything near him including jump shots. Offensively he’s skilled at the free throw line knowing when to attack or when to drive and kick and he finishes strong with dunks or oops every chance he gets. Transition play is the bonus here, he runs the court well and pinned several shots off the backboard or turned a throw it up pass into a oop with ease. He frustrated one of Texas’s top ranked 6’9 bigs on day 1 holding him to his worst stat total in a while proving he is a huge X factor for the Patrick School and someone who may be a steal for the right program at the next level.

Mbaye is just filled with so much talent and potential that he could very well end up as the best center in this class once the season gets underway. At 7’2″ he moves like a guard and he has a lot of crafty and creative moves he uses to score the basketball. He has a consistent midrange shot that he likes to go to on pick-n-pops. In the post, he has a strong eye fake that always gets defenders falling for it. Mbaye can spin around in the paint and use whatever move he wants because more likely than not he will usually have the size advantage. He is quick off his feet and can guard the perimeter at times and put the ball on the floor in certain situations.
