One of the top scorers in southwest Ohio, Kazanecki was named GCL-South player of the year as a Junior where he really burst onto the scene and picked up a handful of Division I offers. As a senior Kazanecki was named district player of the year and continued to display his impressive scoring ability and basketball IQ. A high academic prospect as well, I could see a high academic program swooping in and securing a commitment from Kazanecki.

The GCL-South player of the year as a Junior is a great piece for a Moeller program that has been as successful as any in Ohio this century. A high IQ wing who can shoot, move without the ball and play with strength. Kazanecki initially got on our radar playing on the prep hoops circuit with Team Greatness and we’ve followed him closely for well over a year. Kazanecki’s recruitment seems fairly open at this stage with offers from Dartmouth, Miami (Oh) and Akron plus visits to Furman and Eastern Kentucky, Kazanecki has plenty of options at this stage.

The GCL-South player of the year, Kazanecki had a huge jump from 2.3 PPG to second in the conference in scoring. A player who really knows how to fit within an offensive system, lots of Kazanecki’s buckets come from smart cuts, extra passes from his teammates and good positioning. It’s no mystery why Kazanecki shot 52% from the field and 39% from 3-point range, he gets open shots and doesn’t force the issue. Miami (OH) and Akron were the first Division I schools to offer Kazanecki and more schools will likely come calling this summer.

, as both have only appeared in six of the nine games this season. Kazanecki is the leading scorer and has played every game for the unbeaten Crusaders. With his size, shooting ability and length, Kazanecki is going to be a priority recruit for Division II and NAIA scholarship programs. Also being monitored by Division I schools as well, Kazanecki has stepped into a starting role this winter and thriving for a top team in Ohio. By the time GCL play concludes, Kazanecki will be a household name in the greater Cincinnati area.

At the start of this game, Kazanecki was coming out firing. With 10 early points, it looked like Kazanecki might shoot the lights out to keep his team tight. Early pair of 3-pointers and a tough take to the basket followed by a mid-range jumper and the full package of Kazanecki’s scoring ability had been shown in just a few minutes. As the primary offensive creator for his team, Kazanecki started to get hounded by the defense with ball pressure and help-side activity. He started to slow down his scoring with that added pressure and made a couple impressive passes to open teammates but didn’t find the same rhythm. Kazanecki made a couple nice pivots to free up space to shoot, but playing through contact is another area of improvement. I’m sky high on Kazanecki’s potential and he’s already a very impactful player, just nitpicking one of the most talented prospects at the entire event.

Moeller came down to Shelbyville, Kentucky and won their bracket during the first June live period. Over that weekend, Kazanecki was a starter and making shots in every contest. A skilled wing who is set to breakout in the GCL-South this winter, with his shot-making, feel for the game and positional size. I think Kazanecki has scholarship potential and will likely be a priority for college programs starting next spring.

A prospect I’ve only gotten the chance to see play very little before Friday night, Kazanecki was one of the guys I was most excited to watch this weekend. He didn’t disappoint as his sweet shooting stroke helped lead Moeller to a couple blowouts and into the elite 8 of their bracket where if they win, they’ll play the winner of Lakota East and Preble Shawnee, an Ohio dominated side of the bracket. Kazanecki has a quick release and found open spots in the defense. Moving well off ball, Kazanecki had a nice mid-range shot where he showed his touch from inside the arc. Also an and-1 layup in transition, Kazanecki has the strength to finish through contact. Biggest thing I want to see Kazanecki continue to work on is his foot speed, being able to defend quicker wings at the scholarship level. I expect Kazanecki to breakout this season for Moeller and be one of the top prospects in the GCL-South.

and could see minutes from a few 2026 prospects as well. A must-see team at this event, always a powerhouse in SW Ohio.
